Budget Chicago Hotel Deal
This is a really good deal for anyone thinking of going Christmas shopping in Chicago. Or perhaps, a gift of a trip to Chicago.

Seattle Transportation Tips
Just getting back from Seattle, with a few transportation tips for you. Don't let this big city intimidate you!
First of all, keep in mind if you are traveling to Seattle and the surrounding area, most destinations are spread out far enough that you may want to rent a car for some of the days during your trip.
I would suggest staying at one of the hotels near the airport, for a good central location. Here's the catch, don't rent a car at the airport. Instead rent a car from the Hertz located on International Blvd. or another rental car location. This will be within walking distance of your hotel. You will save about $40 a day, not paying airport fees. Most of the hotels in this area have an airport shuttle, so you can return your car the day before you leave, if you have an early flight.
Use the Link light rail to get around Seattle. The Link has stops near both stadiums, Pike Place Market, the City Center and more. You can easily walk from the City Center to the Space Needle in about 15 or 20 minutes, or you can take the monorail.
Consider eating dinner at one of the restaurants that has a free shuttle. We had a nice dinner at a restaurant I happened to find on the internet named Salty's. Our hotel desk clerk told us about the free shuttle. We were able to catch the sunset at Redondo Beach, while we were there.
Be sure and ask the hotel personnel and other locals you come across for tips about getting around Seattle. They are typically more than happy to help.

- The Seattle StreetCar fares are a mere $2.50 and only $0.75 for Seniors.
- Metro - fares range from $2.25 to $3.00 and $0.75 for Seniors
- Taxi - $40 flat rate from airport to hotel district. $2.50 meter drop + $2.70 per mile.
- Seattle Monorail - $2.25 and $1.00 for Seniors
